General Information: 

Course Requirements

  1. Attendance at all seminars is mandatory.
  2. Attendance and successful completion of all practical classes.
  3. Completion of exercises on the e-learning platform - e-learning platform

One justified absence is permitted; 3 late arrivals are treated as one absence. The form of making up absences is arranged with the supervising teaching assistant. If a student is unprepared for class, the assistant has the right not to grant credit. In such cases, the class must be completed with another group or in written form (essay, test/written assessment on the given topic - the form of completion is arranged with the supervising assistant).

Final grade consists of:

  1. Passing the entrance and final examination (>60%), including 100% on the anatomy section (basic questions)
  2. Completion of practical classes and seminars - attendance, laboratory completion, completion of e-learning platform tasks.

Final examination - 1st term will be held on xx.xx.2026 at xx.xx in CD (examination date will be announced soon)


The final examination organized by the Examination Office consists of 3 parts:

  • 30 multiple-choice questions: 3-5 distractors, 1 correct answer (30 points)
  • 20 multiple-choice questions: 8 distractors, up to 8 correct answers (20 points)
  • 10 test questions or short answers on anatomy based on intraoral radiographs - basic questions (10 points)

Class Structure:

  1. Seminars are held during the first two sessions from x:xx a.m. to xx:xx a.m. (first two weeks of classes)
  2. Practical classes are held from x:xx a.m. to xx:xx a.m. - please arrive on time.

Seminars

  1. Principles of referring patients for imaging studies, rules for conducting, storing and sharing medical documentation; intraoral radiographs: types, techniques, indications. Atomic Law (Act and Regulations of the Minister of Health). Discussion of diagnostic interpretation of intraoral radiographs.
  2. Radiographic signs of marginal periodontitis and hard tissue defects. Discussion of normal appearance and radiological signs of pathology in marginal periodontium and dental hard tissues.
  3. Radiological diagnostics in endodontic treatment. Parallax. Radiographic signs of periapical periodontitis. Discussion of normal appearance and radiological signs of pathology in periapical tissues. Projections facilitating diagnosis during endodontic treatment.
  4. Symptomatology of pathological processes in the alveolar process of the maxilla and alveolar part of the mandible. Discussion of normal appearance and radiological signs of pathology in the alveolar process of the maxilla and alveolar part of the mandible.

Practical Classes

  1. Intraoral radiography technique – phantom examination. Discussion of theoretical and technical aspects of intraoral imaging.
  2. Taking intraoral radiographs and radiographic anatomy of intraoral images in virtual reality.
  3. Identification and radiographic anatomy of intraoral radiographs. Normal radiographic anatomy in intraoral imaging.
  4. Radiological diagnosis of defects in mineralized dental tissues. Radiological signs of pathology in dental hard tissues.
  5. Differential diagnosis of chronic periapical periodontitis. Radiological signs of pathology in periapical tissues. PAI index. Radiological diagnostics in endodontic treatment.
  6. Diagnosis of pathological processes in the alveolar process of the maxilla and alveolar part of the mandible. Focal lesions on intraoral radiographs.
  7. Symptomatology of chronic marginal periodontitis. Radiological signs of pathology in marginal periodontium.
  8. Review class covering all material.
